Cookie & Storage Policy

LAST AUDITED: OCTOBER 2026•VERSION: 1.0.0•STATUS: EMPIRICALLY VERIFIED

This policy provides an honest, technical accounting of how cookies and client-side browser storage operate on obliquity.dev. We believe privacy begins with not collecting unnecessary data in the first place.

What Is Stored in Your Browser

We distinguish between HTTP cookies (which are sent to servers with every network request) and local browser storage (which remains strictly on your device).

localStorage: `obliquity-theme`Functional Preference

Stores your interface theme selection ("studio") so the website renders with your preferred visual palette.

Scope: First-party origin onlyLifespan: Persistent until clearedTransmission: Never sent to server
HTTP Cookies (`document.cookie`)None Present

Our application sets zero first-party cookies and imports zero third-party cookie-setting libraries. Visiting any page produces an empty document.cookie string.

SessionStorage & Service WorkersInactive

No service workers are registered, and no session storage keys are initialized during normal browsing.

03 // CONSENT ARCHITECTURE

Why We Do Not Display a Cookie Banner

Many websites display intrusive cookie consent banners while simultaneously loading third-party trackers in the background. We consider this practice deceptive.

Under applicable privacy standards—including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and international data protection frameworks—consent is legally required for non-essential tracking, third-party analytics, and advertising cookies. Because Obliquity employs none of these technologies:

  • There are no tracking cookies requiring prior opt-in consent.
  • A consent banner would be misleading theater suggesting we use cookies when we do not.
  • The single functional key in local storage stores only a visual styling preference on your local device.
04 // USER CONTROLS

How to Manage Your Browser Storage

You maintain full control over any client-side data stored by your browser. You can inspect, modify, or delete stored keys at any time through your browser developer tools or settings:
